Ok, I know Chili's is a chain but I like their food. I often go there when I want something quick and good. And I (along with other friends and family) sometimes go there and make a meal out of their appetizers.
So, Roger came home with some gift certificates for Chili's and we went out Halloween night (after the dozen trick-or-treaters came by). It was not busy that night and we got a table right away. Service was very good that night.
We started with drinks, Roger said 'you pick the margarita' to the waiter for him and I selected a Caribean Calypso drink (with rum). We both enjoyed our drinks, Chili's is known for their varied and specialty margaritas. The waiter brought Roger a 'Platinum Margarita' which he enjoyed. My drink was nice and fruity and fresh.
We had a specialty appetizer, Zesty Cheese nachos with gaucamole. Enjoyable! Crispy chips circled the plate, completely covered in melted cheese and a slice of jalapeno pepper on each. Tomatoes, sour cream, lettuce and gaucamole were included for spreading on the chips.
Roger ordered a FAJITA TRIO - "Tender grilled steak, marinated grilled chicken and spicy garlic & lime grilled shrimp. Served with onions & bell peppers." I grabbed a shrimp from his plate and it was very tasty. He enjoyed his meal very much.
I order a special - Crispy chicken tacos. I got three tacos loaded with crispy chicken strips, lettuce and ranch dressing. The tacos are actually their tortillas crisped up-nice!
We both ordered black beans and rice on the side - both were a little bland, could use a little more 'pow'.
My leftovers heated nicely for lunch the next day.
Final rating (out of 5)
Restaurant(appearance, ambiance): 3 (Nothing fancy)
Service(hostess, waitress): 5 (Couldn't ask for better service and attention)
Food: 4
Would I go back again? Yes, I have again and again and will again.
